Elizabeth Gage: Iconic British Jewellery, Crafted for a Lifetime

Elizabeth Gage’s story began with a ring — or rather, the absence of one…

Elizabeth at the bench

While studying art in 1960s London, she searched for a ring that expressed both strength and beauty, only to find inspiration not in the shops, but in the British Museum. There, the bold symbolism of ancient Roman rings ignited a vision. She left art school and trained as a goldsmith at Sir John Cass College — an extraordinary step for a woman at that time. In 1964, Elizabeth founded her own house with a radical philosophy: jewellery should be a form of storytelling — rich with history, sculpted by hand, and created to endure.

A Signature of Individuality and Meaning

Elizabeth Gage did not follow jewellery trends — she created her own language. Drawing from mythology, manuscripts, architecture, and nature, she designed bold, sculptural pieces that became personal artefacts. From intricately enamelled rings to one-of-a-kind intaglio pendants, each jewel tells a story — imagined without compromise.

Her clients were drawn to this fearless originality. Women like Jackie Onassis and Lauren Bacall collected her work for its power, elegance, and symbolism. As The New York Times observed, her jewellery spoke to those “who wanted more — strength, originality, storytelling.”
To wear Elizabeth Gage is to wear your voice — vivid, confident, entirely your own.

Crafted in Britain, Made to Last Forever

What sets Elizabeth Gage apart is not only her imagination, but her commitment to craftsmanship without equal. She studied ancient goldsmithing techniques in Crete and brought them back to Britain, where every jewel is still handcrafted by her loyal team of artisans. Working exclusively in gold, using custom-cut stones, miniature enamel paintings, and rare historical elements, each piece is made with enduring quality and care.

From her first boutique in Beauchamp Place, to Mayfair’s Albemarle Street, and now her private showroom in Belgravia, Elizabeth has remained quietly exclusive — a connoisseur’s choice. Here, clients are welcomed into the world where every piece is imagined, designed, and made, just steps from where it began.

Elizabeth Gage is not just jewellery — it is heritage, imagination, and craftsmanship made tangible. For those seeking the ultimate expression of personal luxury, there is no other.
