Gold Winged Horse Pendant
An exquisite 18ct yellow gold pendant featuring a Western Asiatic Bronze and Gold Winged Horse Mount, 6th-4th century BC, set within a gold mount with a hinged jump-ring to the top. The antiquity is a bronze discoid mount with gold openwork appliqué to the obverse, a standing winged horse in a beaded frame with circles and leaf motifs. The leaf motif is repeated on the back of the pendant. The mount has come from an important London art collection; acquired on the UK art market between 1971 and 1974.
